Product Diversion
Diversion is when products are sold in "unauthorized" places. All genuine products are sold exclusively in salons or spas, but you might find some of these products in your local supermarket, drugstore, online or at a discounter. Salon professional products you find outside of a salon or spa are considered to be "diverted." Diverted products can be counterfeit, diluted formulas, or old, expired formulas that may not be safe to use. Companies are spending a lot of time and money identifying and stopping diversion - sometimes offering monetary rewards for information leading to the sanction of diverters.
